Some photos from October 2009 Posted on October 31, 2009August 22, 2023 by scott A View From Port Glasgow #1 A View From Port Glasgow #2 A View From Port Glasgow #3 But Alan! The battery parade is in but half an hour! Get down that grooming bay! Queen’s Park Queen’s Park I’m coming back here with my wide angle lens and, if no-one’s moved that damnable crate from the falls, a pair of wellies. The wee alley between my street and Lidl continues to be my go-to source for discarded, broken objects. As a discarded, broken object myself, I feel quite at home there. Another typically grey day in Glasgae, Scotchland. This is the Gallery of Modern Art, although you’ve probably already gathered that by now. Cathkin Park Cathkin Park Cathkin Park Cathkin Park Look, it’s not much of a shot, but it’ll be about the last I see of sunlight this year. It’s good to have memories. See us Weegies? We love putting traffic cones on statues. Nothing we love more. No cigar, though. Dictionary first, next time. Building the road to nowhere. It had it coming. LNote to self: hold camera straight. I assume the wee yellow boat is the River Cops giving these two Type 45 Destroyers a ticket for their shocking display of parking. Put a small amount of effort into this for once. Even remembered to bring a tripod and the shutter release cable. Yay me. HDR’d for that unmistakable comic book feel. Run. Keep running. Hide. They’re all after you. Queen’s Park While they can break a man’s arm from twelve paces, there is no need to sacrifice your child to appease them. War on swans. So, a stone’s throw from Hampden Park, assuming you’re very good at throwing stones, lies Cathkin Park. Which used to be called Hampden Park, just to keep things confusing. Was once the home of Third Lanark A.C, bankrupt and defunct in 1967, now home to an amateur league side of the same name. It remains one of the few football grounds I’ve seen with trees growing in it. Was rather hoping to get the light falling on the goalposts, but the celestial alignment was against me. George Square By Night Welcome to the next few months, mainly characterised by night shots and high ISO noise. Hurray! Winter! Darkness! Thanks to a mysteriously long tailback on the motorway delaying me tonight, and coupled with the fact that it’s teeming down with rain in The Weege today, this is another iPhone effort from behind the wheel of the car. Thanks go to Tiltshift Generator and Mill Colour, a devastating image tooling combo, especially given the asking price of 59p. Highland Cow #1 Highland Cow #2 Highland Cow #4 Highland Cow #5 Yeah, yeah. car park lights and a security camera and a lame title joke. I’ve not the patience for anything else. Underexposed for… I can remember why I did it. It was deliberate, but apparently forgettable. Let’s call it art. Hey, I’ve been good lately. You’ll have to allow me the odd ‘gimme’. It was, apparently, very important for this section of rubble, waste and detritus to be floodlit with the power of twelve suns. The reasons escape me entirely. Difficult to have a staring match with animals whose eyes always seem to be obscured by their fringes. Highland Cows, the New Romantics of the bovine scene. Look, if those pen pushers at City Chambers don’t like it, they can do one. I’m a renegade cop on the edge, damnit. Pollock Park Sawmill #1 Pollock Park Sawmill #2 Seriously, who leaves a crate there? Forgot to reset the ISO back to 100 for this, which was a shame, but seems to have not entirely ruined it. Weird internal lighting plus a setting sun for the score draw, if not quite the win. A nice day in Weegieland, for once. Alert the media! Turns out that a good way to get more interesting photos is to drive somewhere that looks interesting and photograph there. Who knew? This? It’s about halfway between Port Glasgow and Finlaystone. And yes it has HDReded, thanks for asking. Sailing up the Clyde, passing the semi-built Type 45 I’ve been stuck in a lot of queuing traffic today. Had to do something to amuse myself. Again. Sorry. Yeah, my bad. Sorry for any confusion caused. A wide view of the two Type 45 Destroyers, badly parked. A wide view of the two Type 45 Destroyers, badly parked. HMS Dragon, I presume? A view up the Clyde, the Sea Charente in the distance. Phwoar! Look at the stonework on that! Winter Gardens
